AwesomeMacApp ("we," "our," or "us") builds native macOS applications. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data. This policy covers all products published under the AwesomeMacApp brand, including MacQuit.
Data We Collect
Our apps are designed to work locally on your Mac. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the licensing system and improve our products:
- Email address — provided when you purchase a license. Used to deliver your license key and for purchase-related communications.
- License key and activation data — stored to verify your license across devices. This includes an anonymous device identifier (hardware UUID) and the number of active devices.
- Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number or bank details.
Data We Do Not Collect
We believe in privacy by design. Our apps do not collect:
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Lists of apps you run or quit
- Browsing history or personal files
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
How We Use Your Data
- License fulfillment — to generate, deliver, and validate your license key.
- Customer support — to help you if you contact us about your purchase or license.
- Product updates — to notify you of major updates to apps you have purchased, if you have opted in.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — license data storage (email, license key, device identifiers). Hosted in the United States.
- Resend — transactional email delivery for license keys.
- Vercel — website hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Data Storage and Security
License data is stored securely on Supabase with row-level security policies and encrypted connections. Your license key is stored locally on your Mac in the system Keychain, which is encrypted and protected by macOS.
Data Retention
We retain your email and license data for as long as your license is active. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove all personal information within 30 days. License keys will be deactivated as part of this process.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Withdraw consent for communications at any time

Children's Privacy
Our products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
